Laura Gonzalez-de Leon
CPR/First Aid Certified
Laura was born and raised in South Texas in the lower Rio Grande Valley and learned Spanish at a very young age. Her parents are both bilingual native Spanish speakers and retired educators.
Before retirement, her mother taught both Spanish and English as a Second Language, ESL, while her father taught in both math and science fields. Laura has followed in her parents footsteps by volunteering her time with children in various settings.
She has attended both University of Texas – Pan American in Edinburg, TX and Texas A & M University Corpus Christi studying Music Education, playing both piano and percussion.
When she isn’t in class, she enjoys spending time with her husband & infant twin girls, hanging out with friends, reading, playing the piano, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family in Austin, TX.
Laura believes that learning other languages is not only beneficial, but also helps you indulge in different cultures. It also opens many doors in the future.

“Nico LOVES your class, I’m so glad there was room for him. He comes home a couple of times a week asking if I know the Spanish word for (what you taught that day), and he taught his two year old sister how to count to ten in Spanish. Thanks for inspiring him!”

“Oscar loves Spanish. Thank you!! He sings and talks to us in Spanish all the time, and loves sharing vocabulary with his sister (in 2nd grade). Thanks, so much for everything!”
